This event offers knowledge, encouragement and practical tools for maintaining cognitive health. Drawing on the latest research, we will explore how lifestyle choices, mental habits and targeted training can help sustain memory, attention and overall wellbeing – including in later life.
You will gain insight into common myths about memory loss and be introduced to realistic, manageable changes that can have a tangible impact in daily life. We will also examine the brain’s lifelong capacity for change, why cognitive activity plays a central role in preserving mental health and sharpness, and how it may contribute to reducing the risk of dementia – as well as what you can do yourself.
You will gain insight into:
- What cognitive maintenance is – and how it may help reduce the risk of dementia
- Memory, attention and ageing – myths, facts and what the research shows
- Healthy habits for the brain – sleep, exercise, stress management, nutrition, relationships and mental training
- What you can do yourself – practical strategies to strengthen your cognitive health in everyday life
