Transforming MRI Technology for Safer and More Precise Dementia Diagnosis
Professor
Aarhus University
We are rethinking how dementia is diagnosed by upgrading the convetional MRI technology to conduct metabolic imaging, removing the need for radioactive PET scans. Using deuterium-labeled glucose detected indirectly through standard brain MRI signals, we aim to produce detailed images that allow for early and precise dementia diagnosis. This cutting-edge method reduces costs, eliminates radiation exposure, and streamlines clinical processes. With this grant, we plan to develop advanced AI enhanced imaging techniques, offering a safer, non-invasive solution for dementia patients to enhance their care and treatment outcomes.
