TExpose - Exposing the activation mechanisms of animal Transposable Element families
Postdoc
Aarhus University
In our DNA, a significant menace to cellular integrity resides – Transposable Elements (TEs). Abnormal TE activation has recently been linked to various neurological disorders like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases or aging-related disorders. Yet, our understanding of the mechanisms governing TE expression remains largely incomplete. This project aims to conduct a systematic investigation of the transcriptional activation of animal TE families, with the goal of unraveling the fundamental drivers of TE-mediated pathogenicity.
