Novel NRF2-driven inhibition of viral replication in the CNS

Christian Kanstrup Holm鈥檚 main research focus is on cellular strategies used by the human host to prevent pathogenic viruses from replicating and causing disease. This project will be investigating how cells of the central nervous system (CNS) attempt to fight neurotropic viruses including measles virus and west nile virus (WNV). The latter has recently become a considerable concern in Europe as countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea have experienced a considerable increase in CNS infections caused by WNV.
