Can a blood sample be used to select the persons with the highest risk of lung cancer? This is what we aim to test in this study. A thousand patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) will be offered participation in the project by their general practitioner. They will have a blood sample drawn at Vejle Hospital, and if the blood sample shows increased risk of lung cancer, they will be offered a CT scan of the lungs.
