Marta Perera
Inter-tissue communication driving salivary gland initiation and branching morphogenesis.

Marta Perera, Centre for Craniofacial & Regenerative Biology, King's College London, has been awarded a postdoc research grant from the Lundbeck Foundation worth DKK 2.470.766
Using the salivary gland as a model for branching morphogenesis, Marta Perera aims to study the molecular players that mediate coordination between the different tissues in order to produce branching.
Identifying these factors and mechanisms constitute a first step towards understanding what causes ineffective branching in congenital disease.
