Increasing diversity competences among academic staff at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences
Denmark is becoming more diverse which is also reflected among staff and students at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND), University of Copenhagen why the academic staff encounters colleagues and students with many different backgrounds eg. Socioeconomic status, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality. Diversity can be an advantage, by bringing forward new perspectives and boost innovation, but it can also cause friction and spark insecurity among staff and students.
This project will develop and pilot a training course aiming to improve the diversity competences including knowledge and awareness among the academic staff at SUND. To accommodate the target group’s need for flexibility, the course will be a designed as a blended learning training course. The topic will be approached with different didactic methods, which can spark reflection and discussion.
