Anne Mette Askehøj Rømer, University of Southern Denmark, has been awarded a postdoc research grant from the Lundbeck Foundation worth DKK 3.189.000
In this project we will investigate how a so far unknown mechanism of contact-based transfer of molecules, that can affect the function of tumor associated nerves and brain metastasis outgrowth. We believe that this can pave the way for the development of new cancer therapies or the improvement of current ones. Furthermore, the results will add to out knowledge about immune regulation of nerves, which can also be useful in other neuroimmunology diseases.
