Identification of causal factors for intussusception and infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis
Researcher
Rigshospitalet
Anders Husby, Postdoc, Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Rigshospitalet, and the Department of Congenital Disorders, Statens Serum Institut, has been awarded an Early-Career Clinician Scientist grant worth 2.500.000 DKK
His research project will investigate the underlying causes of two diseases occurring in early childhood, infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis and intussusception. Using a combination of Danish health registry data and the dried blood spots from the Danish neonatal screening program (i.e., ‘PKU’/Guthrie cards), the research project aims to lay the groundwork for future screening efforts and identify causative culprits for both diseases.
