How does our Environment affect the risk of PSYchiatric disorders? (EPSY)
Rina So, Department of Public Health, University of Copenhagn, has been awarded a postdoc research grant from the Lundbeck Foundation worth DKK 1.949.693
The project will investigate the association of exposure to environmental stressors (air pollution, noise, greenness, and light pollution) with major psychiatric disorders in Denmark across lifetime.
This comprehensive research includes data on over 5 million Danes, ranging from all children born since 1980 to all adults in 2000, and participants in National Health Surveys and the Danish Nurse Cohort. Using historical maps for environmental exposure and advanced analytical techniques, we aim to explore the impact of these exposures on mental health, independently and jointly. This project also focuses on identifying groups most susceptible based on age, sex, socio-economic status, and existing health conditions.
