Development of immunotherapy for meningioma patients and minimizing surgical inflammatory response
Andrea Maier, Department of Neurosurgery, Rigshospitalet, University of Copenhagen, has been awarded an Early-Career Clinician Scientist Grant of DKK 2.459.505
The project investigates immunotherapies targeting macrophages in meningiomas, the most common primary intracranial tumour in adults. Using patient-derived mouse models, we will identify promising targets for further human studies. We will correlate macrophage-related markers in patients pre- and post-surgery to symptoms and surgical techniques, aiming to identify biomarkers for the chronic neuroinflammatory state and to optimize surgical outcomes.
