Collective immune cell reprogramming to combat glioblastoma
Resident
Odense University Hospital
A single immune cell cannot fight an infection any more than a single neuron can write a symphony. These tasks require a complex choreography between different cells. This project seeks to reprogramming multiple immune cells directly in the brain to collectively generate a potent response against glioblastoma, a devastating cancer with no cure. This will be achieved by combining a new form of cancer therapy called chimeric antigen receptors with advanced genetic constructs, which will allow for multiple immune cells to target the cancer cells.
