Characterization and Prevention of Infectious Diseases in Childhood
CLINICAL POSTDOC
Nicklas Brustad, MD, Copenhagen Prospective Studies on Asthma in Childhood (COPSAC), Herlev and Gentofte Hospital, has been awarded a postdoc research grant from Lundbeck Foundation worth DKK 1,490,960.
He intends to study the consequences of childhood infections. These infections may be related to neuropsychiatric disorders later in life – but the underlying causes are not well-understood. The study will investigate, among other things, whether intake of fish oil and vitamin D during pregnancy can be a protective factor in relation to the child’s later propensity to develop infections.
