A NORthern European multicenter randomized trial in patients with Covert Brain Infarction
Doctor
Aarhus University Hospital
Covert brain infarcts (CBI) are the most common incidental findings on brain MRI. It remains
unclear whether CBI is a part of normal aging or represents a 鈥渕issed stroke鈥 and should be treated as a clinical stroke. Each year, physicians encounter this dilemma approximately 2 million times, with no consensus on the best treatment strategy.
In this Northern European randomized trial, we will test four different treatment strategies to determine the best treatment for future patients with CBI.
