We focus on brain health in Denmark
The Lundbeck Foundation鈥檚 clear emphasis on the brain and brain research is linked to the fact that brain disorders impose substantial costs on society.
New research from Aarhus University shows that one in five Danes suffers from a brain disorder, and that the direct and indirect costs associated with these disorders exceed 100 billion kroner per year. In addition, there are considerable human costs for the many patients and their families.
Aarhus University has published a report on brain health in Denmark that includes an analysis of the costs of brain disorders. The study was initiated by the Lundbeck Foundation.
