Back to overview

SMARTbiomed will contribute to the development of new and better methods for collecting and analyzing large-scale data from both Danish and foreign registries and biobanks, thereby shedding light on risk factors, causal relationships, patterns, treatment and consequences within various disease areas, including diabetes, psychiatric disorders and cardiovascular diseases.

Main objectives of the pioneer centre

  • To bring together multidisciplinary research teams to develop new methods for analysing biomedical data.
  • To develop data platforms and software for biomedical research based on real medical challenges, which are easy to use.
  • To establish an internationally leading learning and career environment in health-data research.

SMARTbiomed is anchored at Aarhus University.
