Occasionally, growth hormone (GH) deficiency is diagnosed in the evaluation of poorly growing children which can be treated with recombinant GH injections. We aim to measure circulating bone markers in a large group of healthy children and adolescents to establish reference ranges in relation to linear growth and pubertal timing. We further aim to measure bone markers in children prior to- and during treatment with GH to potentially individualize GH dosing, and hereby improve treatment control.
